History

In 1933, John and Leo Nichols founded Nichols Bros., Inc.  John, Leo and their wives made a living for themselves selling one product (baker’s cheese) to Chicago bakeries and food manufacturers. With a strong desire to satisfy customers, their client base and product line grew rapidly.  In 1948, John sold his interest in the business to his sons Leon and John Jr.  Through skillful mergers and acquisitions, they grew the company into what is now Badger Murphy, Inc.: a full service, name brand foodservice distributor with a catalog of over 4000 items!
